Elizabeth & Chris

Seattle, WA - I had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth and Chris through our mutual friend and fellow photographer Daniel Piker who I was supporting for this event. The wedding was set for February 10th, and as the day approached the fickle Seattle weather was getting colder. When the day came, we were in the midst of a week-long “Snopocalypse”. The hilly roads around Capitol Hill are too old and narrow to be plowed, so 4-6 inches of snow and ice stood between my buried RWD Miata the Russian Orthodox church at the top of the hill. Thankfully, Daniel came to my rescue in his bright blue Subaru WRX, and we were able to reach the venue early.

Following their morning service, Elizabeth and Chris split off to get ready with friends and family. Lighting was great at the priest’s home on the grounds, and we took the opportunity to capture some portraits before the ceremony. Their church was a gorgeous space full of art, artifacts, and history. The ceremony was equally beautiful and full of energy and enthusiasm. Snow was still coming down as the wedding moved to the Lake Union Cafe for the reception. With Daniel’s help, some Godox brand remote strobes, and the Cafe's old neon lighting, I was able to compose some of my favorite portraits to date.
