Northgate's Paifang

Just a single shot from around town. we were driving by the new bus/train station and noticed the giant red gate holding the train bridge over this intersection. Sara made the connection first, to the large Torii or Paifang gate.

The Paifang comparison seemed most appropriate to me, since these gates represented the entrance into a new precinct or neighborhood in traditional Chinese urban planning. And accurately enough, this one was construct as the Seattle Light Rail moved into the North Seattle neighborhood for the first time.
