Nujabes at The Crocodile
Seattle, WA - Nujabes has held a fond place in my music library for a long time. In the early years of the internet, Nujabes was more passionate about getting his music out and allowing people to enjoy his work. Rather than license his music through a record label, he released his music for free download online. Although he passed in 2010, he lived on in the websites that hosted and streamed his music, and continued to gain recognition.
When I heard that some of Nujabes’ friends and fellow musicians were bringing a tribute tour to the U.S., I knew I had to go. Seeing Shing02 rapping on stage with Spin Master A-1 brought back memories of the all the hours I’d spent listening to his work and the probably thousands of times I’d listened to all the Luv(sic) variations.
