Dion's FB RX-7

Dion's FB RX-7

I've been following Dion's progress on this car for a few years now. When I met him a few years back, I was already impressed with condition he kept this 2 owner RX-7, and the subtle updates he'd made already. But when he found a set of original SSR Formula Mesh (a 30 something year old wheel!), things started to get interesting.

The wheels were restored over a excruciatingly long process, and with a little international support. the faces shipped from Japan, while the new deeper lips arrived from a manufacturer New Zealand. Then fresh powder coating was finished in Eugene, Oregon, before the final wheel build in Tacoma, Washington.

Suspension was an equally complex story. Dion wasn't satisfied with the limited coilover offerings for the FB, so he set about building his own kit, with Tokico shock parts, 12K springs, custom collars, and camber plates. The result is a coilover setup that meets his very, very low standards. It was a long year of waiting, but the work and patience has clearly paid off.
