Food Collection - Summer

Seattle, WA - I’ve been experimenting with rebuilding a mini product photo studio in the finished attic of my new Seattle residence. Here’s collection of test shots generated while getting to know the tiny space. As I dial in the setup, I’m looking forward to getting more sophisticated with lighting, backdrops and staging for future projects.
The small space and angled ceiling certainly has its challenges. Of course the low ceilings limit the position and angles that lights can be placed at. Short of repainting the space flat black, bounced light off the warm paint is basically unavoidable. Once some bounce and black cards are setup, color and light should be much easier to control the intended look. Aside from testing speedlites, I also tried using a projected back drop and Philips Hue LEDs to create more immersive scenes. There are still issues with focus, perspective, and saturation to resolve, but I’m quite happy with the early results!
