AVANTS Off Road - Tahuya

TAHUYA STATE FOREST, WA - Mud, rocks, fords, and plenty of rain. All things I have not photographed lately. As you may have noticed, I’ve been working with AVANTS Seattle recently. I’ve gotten to spend some quality time with some really cool people and really cool sports cars. But with the start of Seattle’s rainy season (…of Fall-Spring), a lot of the the community is going into hibernation. Luckily, AVANTS just kicked off its Off Road segment with a trip to Tahuya State Forest near Belfair, WA.
We started out the day meeting in Belfair, and then caravaning to the ORV park. At the trailhead, Branden Powell of King County Search and Rescue shared basic techniques with the group. He also talked through basic vehicle recovery techniques and gear with the help of Michael Mayfarth (local rally racing S&R) and Victor Bjornsson from Masterpull. Once everyone was prepped, we split into two teams to check out the ORV park.
This was my first time hanging out with a big off roading club, and aside from a couple traffic jams, everyone did great! Check out the gallery below for more of the action, and note the completely stock MANUAL Forester XT that was keeping up. (the real hero in this story :) )
