Heike's M2
CARNATION, WA - I was just finishing up my third shoot for AVANTS that afternoon, when my phone chimed. After fumbling through my pockets in the chilly November air, I saw that someone had just slipped in under the wire with one more appointment for the day. “Great, that late customer… always right at COB.” In the span of the previous session, someone had created a membership account AND signed up for their complimentary photos. But when I saw that this client was bringing a BMW M2 Edition Black Shadow (which I’d never heard of before, and I thought sounded awfully redundant), my curiosity was peaked. As it turns out, Heike is really cool and so is her M2.
The M2 Edition Black Shadow is a limited run cosmetic package for the already impressive M2. On top of its unique Sapphire Black Metallic paint, this M2 exchanges all the standard chrome trim for gloss black and carbon fiber. This includes a gloss black grill, carbon mirrors and rear diffuser, and even carbon sleeved dual exhaust tips. The exclusive 19in matte black wheels are a nice touch as well, and help show off the M2’s large drilled rotors.
Heike loves BMWs and driving. The Northwest is full of great roads but with the booming tech industry, it’s also has plenty of shiny new European luxury cars already. The Black Shadow stands out by taking the low road and trading opulence for a no-nonsense understated aesthetic.
